If you answered yes to the above questions, you may be experiencing a hearing loss and by the way, you’re not alone. One in ten people in America have a hearing impairment. Hearing loss is the third most prevalent disability among senior citizens, behind only arthritis and high blood pressure. It has been proven that hearing loss adversely affects the quality of life. From communicating with loved ones to performing well on the job, good hearing is a must!
If you know you have a hearing problem or would like to have your hearing checked, make an appointment with Doug Schultz, the licensed hearing professional at Tobin’s Hearing Center. He will examine your ear canals using a video otoscope, check your hearing and explain the results to you. You’ll also receive a printout of your hearing test that you can use for future reference.

If we do find you have a hearing problem, and you’re willing to get help, Tobin’s Hearing Center has the solution and it’s called the Starkey Wi-Series hearing aid. Wi-Series is the most technologically advanced hearing instrument available. It virtually thinks for itself, automatically adjusting to the ever changing sound environments around you. If you enjoy outdoor sports such as golf or fishing, Wi-Series automatically adjusts for annoying wind turbulence. If you enjoy dining out, the Starkey Wi-Series hearing aid automatically quiets the annoying background noise in the restaurant. If you work around machinery, the Wi-Series automatically reduces mechanical noise. If you have problems hearing conversation on the telephone, Wi-Series senses that the telephone’s receiver is next to your ear and automatically enhances speech. Here’s the best part! Wi-Series can also stream stereo sound directly and wirelessly from your TV, radio or computer to your hearing aid via SurfLink™ Media. Now you can listen at the volume you want, while companions listen at the volume they want.

All in all, the Wi-Series hearing instrument by Starkey is a giant leap forward in helping people hear more clearly. Why not make the decision to enhance the quality of your life with better hearing?

Doug Schultz graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky, College of Pharmacy in 1974. During his first three years of practice as a pharmacist with Tobin Drug in Burlington, Wisconsin, Doug completed courses required for licensure as a hearing instrument specialist. After passing the Wisconsin state board exam in 1977, he began his practice as a hearing instrument specialist.
“Over the past 34 years, I’ve seen many changes in technology and dispensing procedures. The real break through came in 2006 when Starkey Laboratories introduced active feedback intercept. With this technology, patients could enjoy amplification without the annoying squeal or buzzing that was so prevalent with older hearing aids. Helping people hear better is very rewarding! To see the expression on a person’s face, who for the first time in many years is able to hear birds singing or their children or grandchildren speaking clearly is absolutely priceless. Hearing aids definitely improve the quality of life. Just ask a spouse whose husband or wife has a hearing loss and has had to put up with a television set blaring in the family room. Ask a person who just received hearing aids and is able to clearly hear a sermon in church for the first time in many years. Ask a business man who hasn’t been hearing well during board meetings and now with hearing aids is back in the game.”
“When you choose to get hearing help, I would welcome the chance to help you. You can be confident that I’ll provide you with the best possible experience on your journey to better hearing.”
